My architecture project was to create a contrasting extension to a Birmingham building, so I had chosen the Bullring. I was to create an iconic, unique extension which had the opposite design features to the original building. An architect I was inspired by was Daniel Libeskind. He uses a lot of irregular shaped designs and creates these huge spectacular buildings and it is these sorts of deigns and shapes which inspired my final design and building.

We also did a tour of Birmingham City Centre to explore the wide variety of architectural styles we have. This was my favourite trip because, as I would like to study architecture in the future, Birmingham has some beautiful buildings as well as a vast amount of contrasting buildings next to each other. An example of this is the Library of Birmingham which is a postmodern, high-tech style building and just down the road is the Birmingham Town Hall which is an excellent example of neoclassical architecture.
