Gabrielle Milton

For this architectural based project, I chose to focus on the Victoria Law Court in Birmingham because the red brick really stood out to me. After investigating materials, artists and making my own models I decided on the theme of contrasting old style buildings with very modern and minimal pieces. The old building contrast with the modern minimalistic style was inspired by Daniel Libeskind and Amey Kandalgaonkar; I liked what Libeskind did with the new looking extension pieces on old buildings, and I like Kandalgaonkar’s style of buildings in general.

We went on lots of trips, like London, where we visited the Royal Academy of Art gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum as well as driving around to see the architecture there. We also went to Birmingham and I discovered new buildings I had never seen before.
