Donatella Da Silva

In this project I explore how different elements, such as line, shape, space, value, form, texture, and colour are explored in furniture design and home accessories. I am interested in this idea because I enjoy looking at the designs of different homes and restaurants and how they reflect on the cultural or historical aspect of these places. When exploring different designs (layout, floor, and wall designs), it inspired me to look further into the layout of a restaurant. This is something I developed by pushing the traditional boundaries of what a restaurant should look like and discover the different ways materials can be used to create a unique and highly imaginative design along with the representation of colour and how I can include this in my final design. I have shown how I can move away from the idea of the traditional room to further portray the culture of Nando’s and the impact a room can have on an individual.
