The theme for my project ended up being where I lived right in the city of Birmingham. I thought this would be the perfect place to base my football stadium on as I know a lot about the city and also believe they need a new stadium.
The two main parts of Birmingham I based my stadium on were the Selfridges building with the striking bubble patterns and the Spaghetti Junction road network which brings people to the city. The Spaghetti Junction intersection inspired my roof design for the stadium because the wiggly road pattern seemed a good way of covering the pitch and stands. Then with the Selfridges building I covered the 3 smaller stand walls in silver circles which acted as the infamous bubbles giving the stadium a really effective look. I think both design details make it easy to figure out it was based on Birmingham landmarks. I also planned to make all the seating blue to match the clubs colours.
