From the title 'Hidden, Wrapped and Contained', my theme of Temporary Beauty stemmed from the words 'Hidden' and 'Wrapped'. My work is Portraiture-based and I explore the concept of how beauty is 'temporary' - beauty standards constantly change and so do we in our appearance, yet people strive for perfection which is impossible. Often, our inner beauty is forgotten which is one thing that does 'stay' with us. My Final Piece represents how being consumed by your appearance takes away from who you truly are, where the woman turns into a Devil as she applies the red Lipstick. The series aims to be confronting with its dark nature as you slowly see a person's obsessions lead to madness.
