My main idea for my development is focused on relaxation and tones and textures which reflect it. I want to create a piece of clothing which allows the person wearing it to feel comfortable, proving different types of clothing create different mood types. My main inspiration for this idea started with meditation, that’s a big interest of mine and inspired me enough to want to incorporate the feeling meditation brings into my textiles work. In my project I intend to use techniques such as tie-dye and weaving to create a t-shirt that reflects my theme as a whole. My development work will show a colour theme inspired by the autumn season and consist of nudes and browns, these are calming, neutral colours. The main artists that will inspire my development are Versace and Kim Kardashians’ SKIMS collection. Versace created a dress which was an inspiration for the idea of including weaving in my work. SKIMS as a whole is a collection I love, their colour theme and texture of clothing really correspond with the theme of relaxation. The neutral colours (beige, nude, cream) and the soft texture are the inspiration I am going to use whilst exploring the techniques I intend to use.
